Better pay for federal judges
There is no question that federal judges deserve substantial pay raises. Judges often earn less in salary than even the most junior lawyer in a major national law firm. As a result, the bench is increasingly stocked with those who can afford the federal pay cut because they have made a fortune in private practice or those for whom the six-figure federal salary represents a raise.

Does the white horse have mud on the fetlocks?
Hounding Frankfort lobbyist Bob Babbage for failing to disclose his private business relationships with Adam Edelen, Gov. Steve Beshear's chief of staff, is fine. Babbage deserves it.

'Shame' on C-J …
Shame on The Courier-Journal for running a photo on yesterday's front page of bleeding children wounded by a military strike. The news threshold should be extremely high for a newspaper to publish a photograph of an injured child, particularly on the front page where innocent eyes can spy it.
